Admission requirements

Entry qualification

The students willing to attend the Master degree in Food Science and Technology (Food Systems curriculum) must possess a three years University level degree or a similar degree (bachelor diploma or higher) recognized by the regulations in force.
Bachelors of Science degree from these fields are eligible:

  • Agricultural Sciences
  • Food Sciences (food technology, safety, quality)
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Biotechnology
  • Pharmacy
  • Veterinary Science
  • Nutritional Science.

The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English/Italian.
Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original.

Language requirement

Documented proof of English language proficiency of at least level B2:

  • Bachelor or Master diploma from a curriculum studied entirely in English for a programme studied entirely in English as medium of instruction - only for programmes studied at recognized institutions in the following countries: all countries within the EU or Switzerland; Australia, Canada, New Zealand, USA; Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Belize, Guyana. 
  • TOEFL (internet-based at least 90 points)
  • IELTS (at least 6.5 points with no significant weakness).

Other proofs will be evaluated by the admission committee.

IMPORTANT for applications that include a track in the UK
Note that in order to apply for a UK visa, you will need to provide the certificate of successful completion of a Secure English Language Test (SELT – see a list of tests approved by UK Visa & Immigration). If you require a visa to study in the UK, but do not have the required test result yet, you can still apply for a path that includes a UK university. But note that full enrolment in this programme will only be possible once you have provided a SELT test result.

Interest in research and development of food processes and entrepreneurial spirit.


Interview

An on-line or face to face interview will take place to assess your suitability to the program.
